Celebrations Continue!!!
It is a new Year!! Can you believe we are almost at the end of the first month of 2019??
What have you been up to? Have you had holidays?
I LOVE the start of the new year. There is so much hope and excitement for what is to come. Some are breathing a sigh of relief that the past year has gone and looking towards the future while others are grateful for a wonderful past year and keen to see if the next year can top it! Whoever you are what are you expecting from 2019?
For me, 2018 was a great year. It was my first year as a Mary Kay Director and I did love the challenges. It wasn't easy and if I am honest my ego took a bot of hit as I didn't just blitz my first year but found it difficult yet I probably wouldn't change it because it helps me grow as a person. I know I didn't focus on it enough due to the fact that my Singing Career really had a fabulous year and so it is always a juggling act BUT that is what I love about Mary Kay. It works around your priorities and when life just happens.
On January 11th I celebrated 14 years as a Mary Kay Consultant. 14 years ago I read Mary Kay's autobiography and knew I needed to be connected to that company. I was working in an office and singing on the side but I wanted more. So I chose to step out and join. I love makeup and the discount is fantastic too but I have fallen in love with teaching women how to do skincare & makeup, with finding my clients version of beauty, with sharing the opportunity so that it can enrich other's lives. Mary Kay Ash always said that Mary Kay is "More than Makeup" it is a place that a woman (or man) can reach their greatest potential. I know myself I have grown over the 14 years, and I know much more growth is to come because I don't want to be mediocre, I want to be the best I can be!
If you want to know a bit more of my story here is a video that I posted on my FB Page
So continuing on the celebrations I was privileged to attend the Mary Kay Asia Pacific Leadership Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the weekend. I had never attended before and so it was very exciting to travel overseas and to experience Mary Kay on a bigger scale plus also getting to know some of my fellow Australia/New Zealand Sister Directors.
The event was held at the Sunway Resort and accommodation was in the Sunway Pyramid Hotel. It was really lovely, all the staff were so friendly and helpful, there is even a Theme Water Park attached to the Resort and Giant Mall in a Pyramid!! So everything was there!
We joined with around 800 other Directors from Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines and it was so awesome to be with them all. Such excitement and love for what Mary Kay has done in their lives and for their families lives, and for where they are heading. But also such joy and encouragement to one another. The training was amazing and I was truly inspired by their stories and backgrounds.
AND there was a Gala Night which this year was Cow Girl/Cow Boy themed and each country had to perform in the Talent part of the night. Some had multiple groups in it and we had to do a western style dance. Well...........WE WON!!! Australia and New Zealand did a dance to Shania Twain's Man! I Feel Like A Woman. I sang it while the others danced, it was good fun and for some a big thing to perform like that! I also won best dressed for our country but then we were all dressed the same haha!!
I am so grateful that I got to go and that I had such a wonderful time with all. But also for Mary Kay, it truly is an amazing opportunity and I am excited for what is going to happen in Australia & New Zealand this year! Next month we start the DREAM FEARLESS Campaign where our mission is to connect with 25,000 women who do not know Mary Kay and enrich their lives. I can't wait to share with new women and see what Mary Kay can do for them!
If you want to have a FREE pamper to try it, contact me I'd love to share with you!
