Time for a Spring Clean?

I love Spring time, the sun comes back, flowers, birds and lighter evenings plus you can shed some of those winter layers. I always feel hopeful and excited about what is to come.
Traditionally this was the time people would give their houses a Spring Clean, open up the house, let the breeze and sunshine in and remove traces of winter. Did you know it's also a great time to clean out your skincare and makeup??
The winter months usually require you to have a bit more moisturisation, your skin colour is usually a bit lighter because you are inside and even the makeup colours you use maybe a bit heavier than you want to use over the Spring/Summer months.

So does your Skincare need a scrub?

What is your skincare routine? It's important to Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise but its a great time to give you skin a bit extra. Adding a mask for some deep cleanings such as Mary Kay's Deep Cleansing Charcoal Mask or Microdermabrasion is a great way to rejuvenate your skin. I also love to give it a burst of vitamins, my favourite being Mary Kay TimeWise Replenishing Serum C+. It's Antioxidant rich formula is packed with botanical sources known for their high levels of vitamin c. Skin appears more lifted and firmed and I find brighter.

What about your makeup routine?

So trends for this spring are a mixture of things. Luminous skin, lighter coverage, less structure but still bright lips and healthy colour are always fashion. If the trend of contouring always had you slightly scared well you are in luck 😌 Non-touring is in and as long as you have fresh looking skin, highlighting of your cheekbones and some great mascara you are good to go! Of course that is a very simple version, I would add to that a lovely bright lippie and some shimmery eyeshadow and you have a fabulous everyday look.

Foundation wise, you will want to book an appointment to see your Personal Consultant for a check up. Make sure you have the right colour maybe a bit deeper because of the sun and/or a different formula. Also don't forget SPF!! Easiest way to get that is either in your skincare or base. I love the Mary Kay Foundation Primer with SPF15, makes the skin silky smooth and keeps the foundation on longer, check out the little experiment below. Or for a quick and easy all-in-one product CC Cream Sunscreen SPF 15 is fabulous!!

And OF COURSE don't forget to clean your makeup tools!! Essential for best makeup application!

So is it time for your Spring Clean??

Have a great week!
