Christmas Lips!

Christmas is coming and quickly!! So what have you got planned as your makeup for this festive season?? Do you think about it?

I think it's important to update your looks and even to be a bit adventurous when you will be going out quite a bit. So what have you wanted to try?

On Monday night I was teaching a class on Red Lipstick and Christmas looks. I reckon that one of the most common questions that I get is "what red lipstick will suit me?" "How do I put on red lipstick?" "How do I stop it spreading?"
So do you wear red lipstick? or are you one with questions?

Here are some quick tips:

1. To find the right "RED" for you, look at your skin tone to start.

• Fair with Cool Undertones or Medium/Light complexions - look for Raspberry/Pinky reds. I myself suit blue based reds 
• Golden Undertones - Vivid Berry reds work well
• Tan with warmer undertones - look at orange based reds
• Fair people can wear a red lipstick as long as your eye makeup  is right

2. Its important to try some out so see if you can get samples or contact a Mary Kay consultant (yes you could call me haha) so that you can try them. The right red should make your teeth white and your eyes sparkle!

3. When putting it on....very important step is to moisturise the lips first! Red will show up any dryness or cracks. Spread some balm on first.

4. Line your lips first in either a colour liner close to the colour of your lipstick or in a clear lipliner. Colour in your whole lips as this provides a good base.

5. Fill in the colour from the centre out to the edges. Blot with a tissue and then reapply.

 With Red lips you can do Silver/Grey eyes, or Golds/Neutrals. Add some winged eyeliner for a classic look and lashings of mascara and your ready to go!
