Winter Rescue!!

Well Winter is definitely upon us now and I am feeling it, are you? I have always been someone who feels the cold so I have to wear numerous layers of clothing, heaters and my wheatbag are my best friends and I love scarves and gloves. With the constant back and forth into the cold then into heated areas our skin can get quite damaged. Heating can dry our skin and we often do not take the care that we do in summer with moisturising, exfoliating or even fresh air. So what can we do to make sure our skin emerges from Winter like a butterfly??

  1.  Drink lots of water!! I know that drinking constantly doesn't seem as easy to do in winter as in other seasons but it is still so important. Water cleanses our skin and body, it helps keep our skin moisturised and just makes out body run right. So, don't feel like carrying a drink bottle everywhere?? why not enjoy Green or Herbal teas, or even just warm water can be both refreshing and warming. Also water based soups are great too (the other thicker soups are tasty but we are talking about water consumption here ;) )
  2.  Make sure you have a Skincare Program. Even if it is just a cleanser and a moisturiser, the routine of cleaning your skin and then moisturising it is important. Also it is important to clean and moisturise your face morning and night, important as your skin replenishes itself overnight and then needs it all again as it faces the day! You may also need to change your cleanser for winter months, if your skin is not too oily it might need to be on a Normal-to-Dry Cleanser/Moisturiser instead of Combination-to-Oily. It might be an idea to chat with a beauty consultant about that.
  3.  Exfoliate & Masks at least once a week. This is still important as we retreat into winter. Its important to remove the dead skin cells and encourage blood flow and then it also a Moisture Renewal Mask might be a great way to give your skin a boost. Once a week (on separate days though) is enough but will really keep your skin glowing. My faves (and yes they are Mary Kay haha well I am a consultant!) are Mary Kay Microdermabrasion Set $66 and Mary Kay Moisture Renewing Gel Mask $45. Both these products are fantastic for renewing your skin.
  4. Keep up with Body Moisturiser! We sometimes forget to moisturise the rest of our body in winter as it is no longer on show but it is still really important to keep up with Body Moisturiser and Hand Treatments. Keep a hand cream in your bag or on your desk and use it whenever you think about it, your hands will love you for it!!
So hopefully that gives you a reminder on surviving winter! If you are interested in any products I use check out www.marykay.com.au  but there are fabulous products out there so just choose one and USE it haha!!

Happy Moisturising!!
